THE BIG PICTURE

Have you ever begun something and not finished it?

 

The story of the journey surrounding my song, “Georgia Bulldogs on My Mind”, is a story about finishing what you start and not giving up!

 

It’s a story about dreaming big, building your dreams, putting first things first, doing your best at all times, using the talents God has given you for good, and reaching out to others.

 

It’s about opening up to those around you. It’s about being courageous, willing to put yourself and your music or whatever you have created out there in front of people who may not like it while also hoping and believing that others will like it.

 

It’s about building your faith! It’s about learning how to do the things it takes to become successful and applying them! It’s about never giving up and doing something that makes you feel truly alive!

 

2016

In 2016, I wanted to write a song to express my passion for the Georgia Bulldogs, but I really didn't know where to begin. So I thought about it on occasion over the course of a couple weeks and decided I wanted to do more than just write a song. I thought it would be cool to dream bigger than that. I am constantly challenging myself to dream big and striving to turn my dreams into reality. 

 

So I dreamed of sharing the journey of the entire song over the internet for the whole world to see! That way lots of others could join in on the experience and be a part of it and the song would have a chance to make a bigger impact. 

 

I came up with lots of exciting things within that vision to make the journey awesome and then decided to get to work writing the song. Having already recorded 42 of my own songs and written even more, writing the song would prove to be the easiest part of the journey. 

 

I sat down and thought about a chorus first. I thought about how all week long during football season, my thoughts always go from what I am doing right into who Georgia is playing on Saturday. It goes on all week long. I can't get the Georgia Bulldogs off my mind during football season and I love it! So I wrote the chorus first: 

    I got the Georgia Bulldogs on My Mind

    It's a football fever of a special kind

    I got the Georgia Bulldogs on My Mind

    And I just can't wait for kickoff time

     Cause I got the Georgia Bulldogs on My Mind

 

Then I wrote the first verse, which is all about anticipating the game. Then the second verse is all about being at the game and how the Dawgs are always ready to play. 

 
Once I had the song written, my vision for the song was to record it in my studio and promote it through a self-created website that would allow me to share the progress of the song from creation to completion and promotion. That vision has not changed. But in 2016, reality got in the way of my dream.

 

I had a full-time job and a side hustle that I was working hard to build into a full-time business. Keeping my priorities straight, I put God first, my family next, my job third, and my side hustle fourth. The song was in fifth and I simply did not have the time and energy to get it recorded.

 

2017

2017 was a year full of building my side hustle into a full-time business, which put the Georgia Football Song on the back burner for another full year. But it never left my mind. I just had to keep my priorities straight. I knew I would be able to record it in the summer of 2017, but it just did not happen then either because of building my business and keeping my priorities on other matters.

 

2018

2018 was a HUGE year because I made one of my biggest dreams become a reality by turning my side hustle into a full-time business! Once that dream became a reality, I knew that recording the song was finally going to happen sooner rather than later! I spent the fall of 2018 getting my business off to a great start so I could record the song and document the journey in 2019. 

 

2019

I can't wait to share the entire journey with you through this website! The adventure has already begun! I hope you will join this journey with me! It’s going to be a blast!!
